WordProof is proud to announce David Lockie as an Advisor to the Board. David will use his experience to help WordProof grow through partnerships with major publishers, content platforms and creators to adopt timestamps for content protection and trust creation.
David has been an active participant in the WordPress community since 2007, first as a freelancer, then founder of the UK’s leading WordPress agency Pragmatic, entrepreneur and since July 2020 as CMO at Angry Creative after the two agencies merged. Alongside his WordPress experience, David has also been involved in the blockchain space since 2017. Along with working for enterprise clients such as Bacardi, Sage, Danone, PEI Media and The Economist, Pragmatic worked with Coinbase Commerce and Coil Technologies on blockchain-related and -inspired projects that interface with WordPress. Outside of Pragmatic/Angry Creative, he is an Advisor to the Board at Adnode, a blockchain-based ad tech start-up out of New York.
Sebastiaan and David have been talking regularly since WordCamp Europe 2019 in Berlin after Sebastiaan’s talk introducing WordProof to the WordPress community. Over that time, the two have come to realise that they are very much aligned in recognising the challenges that the web faces around trust, authenticity, the value of creators and the need to incentivise good behaviour online for the greater global good. The time came when it simply seemed like a good idea to work together.
The shift to a Trusted Web will provide a meaningful feedstock for search engines and other automated content curation tools to be able to use timestamping as a ranking factor in their recommendation algorithms.
David will be looking for marketing, partnership and other commercial opportunities both with Angry Creative clients and further afield in synergy with his other activities in the WordPress and blockchain spaces.
David is grateful to the team at Angry Creative in enabling him to work flexibly in order to take on this additional role.
