The NGI Policy Summit is the annual flagship policy conference of the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative. On the 28th and 29th of September, the conference focused on setting out a compelling vision for the future internet; to empower policymakers across all levels of governance; and to strengthen the ecosystem of the NGI initiative.
Aimed at policymakers across all levels of governance (EU, National and local/city-level), there was a particular focus on the following five themes:
- Sustainability & resilience
- Trust & identity
- New models for the data economy
- Inclusion
- Collective intelligence
Each of the winners of the Blockchains for Social Good contest was invited to lay out their vision for the future. WordProof founder Sebastiaan van der Lans his talk can be seen in the video below.
The NGI Policy Summit is organised by Nesta and the City of Amsterdam, in collaboration with the European Commission. It forms part of the Next Generation Internet (NGI) programme, the Commission’s flagship initiative to build a more democratic inclusive and resilient future internet.
